A lifelong love of animals

From Ruffles, my childhood tabby cat who I was privileged to grow up with for 21 years, to my gorgeous 16-year-old Harry and Daisy rescue moggies today, I’ve always believed that a house isn’t a home without a pet.

I’m Becca, a local pet sitter and animal lover with a particularly soft spot for cats and dogs.

I run a small local business with my husband and, when I’m not looking after animals, I enjoy gardening, cycling and hiking.

I know how much you can worry about your pets when you’re away, because I feel exactly the same about mine.

For cats who’d rather stay at home

A cattery can be a wonderful option for some cats. But not every cat enjoys being taken somewhere unfamiliar.

I know this from experience. We found a lovely local cattery for Harry and Daisy, but they hated it. They were much happier staying in their own home, where everything was familiar.

That’s why Coker Cat Care brings the care to them.

Your cat can stay in their own surroundings, without the journey or disruption of moving somewhere else, while I pop in to look after them and give them some company.

For the right cat, home can be the most comfortable place to spend your holiday.

A little help while you’re away

While I’m visiting your pets, I’m also happy to take care of a few small things around the house that can make coming home that little bit easier.

Depending on what you need, this might include:

• Watering house plants and outdoor pots
• Putting out or bringing in recycling
• Bringing in post and parcels and keeping them safely inside
• Caring for other small pets
• Checking on chickens, ducks and other small animals

I’ve previously cared for chickens and ducks alongside cats, so if you have other animals at home, just ask.

These little extras can be arranged as part of your visit, so your home and animals are looked after while you’re away.

• Brushing long-haired cats
• Administering medication
• Providing treatments
• Checking for nicks, scratches and ticks
• Giving extra attention to outdoor cats
• Following individual feeding and care routines

Visits usually last around 40 minutes, giving me time to do more than simply put food down and leave.

There’s time to settle in with your cat, take care of their needs and give them the attention they enjoy — whether that’s a cuddle, a game, a brush or simply some company.

Stay connected while you’re away

I’ll happily send you a daily photo or video update via WhatsApp, so you can see how your pet is getting on.

I know how much difference a little photo from home can make when you’re away from your own animals.
